... it was unlike anywhere else I'd stayed and I was glad for the experience.
Overall, I found Kowloon greener, more touristy and more shopping-oriented than downtown HK Island. Pleasant enough, but not too special.

As for Lantau Island: it made for a great escape from the city. The area surrounding the Buddha statue was very touristy, but there were plenty of quieter places to go. ...
