... why I was homesick was because Chen Xia stayed home from school sick so I was without a host student on Friday. Also it's midway through the trip so I think it's normal to be a little home sick. Sorry I haven't written in a few days
Well I have been really busy lately so I haven't taken the time to really write anything. We have been having a lot of fun! Today is the first sunny day since I've been here!!! The weather is beautiful today!!!! It is like 65 degrees and the sun is shining so it makes everyone happy! On Tuesday we went and made qi pao's (traditional Chinese dresses). It was a lot of fun! First full school day
Today was my first full day of school! It was a lot of fun! Chen Xia's friends our so nice! I especially like Sandra. She is so nice to me and she asked me for my email on Saturday and she emailed me that night! She is really funny in her emails when she talks about her school! She said she would bring me some English books to read in class if I'm bored because I don't understand what's going on. She said the classes are sometimes boring to people who can speak Chinese ...
Finally near the coast.
So we arrived in Zhanjiang and tried to get off at the first stop available, us not knowing any better but after asking one of the lads, Neo who could speak good English that wee had met on our trip he told us we weren't actually where we needed to get off. He asked us where we were going (which by this point we were unsure of ourselves!) and said he could help us get to Hainan.

Duped Detour....
This was truly an unexpected stop-off. You might say we fell victim to our first scam. We started off as expected, arriving at Shenzhen (Chinese side of border with Hong Kong) at 7pm. The plan was simple. Take one sleeper bus directly to the beautiful scenic town of Yuangshuo.
