... departure terminal is interesting because of all the the unusual things for sale: all sorts of African products including many kinds of animal skins, horns, and various items made from them: pillows, rugs, clothing and so on.It's all quite expensive of course, a decent zebra skin (there are different qualities) was going for somewhere around $1000 last time I checked.

From Roswell we drive to Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are on the Unesco world heritage list, so we decide to pay them a visit. Located 250 meters under ground are loads of stalagmites, stalactites, draperies, soda straws and popcorn. Soda straws being the tiny ones hanging from the ceiling . In Europe we call them Spaghetti. Popcorn are located on the ground. The cavern is beautiful, but we saw an even more beautiful cavern in Slovenia last year, so were a little spoilt. ...

... the pictures, she really enjoyed playing with her cousins. Once the party started that afternoon, Addy ran around and played. Grampa kept and eye on her while Mama and Baba finished up some things. Even with a house filled with over 30 people, she did great. Poor girl was tired once it was time to eat. ... and went to the Kauffman Memorial Garden one morning. It was a small garden but had lots of bugs to feed our photographic obsession (so prepare for more flower and bug photos), including the coolest bug we have ever seen. I think it was a moth, but have not been able to identify it. It was almost as big as a hummingbird, with a green furry body and orange wings with transparent cutouts in them. Awesome!

... of ice and even ice slides. We saw Frosty, Santa, the reindeer, squirrel and a nativity scene. The figures were made of coloured ice. We were provided with ski jackets to try and keep warm. My hands were really cold on exit. The Gaylord Texan had a centre area replicating areas of Texas like the Spanish missions and the canals of San Antonio as well as the ranch buildings of Texas.
