... that is. Un huh. I found out there was an island nearby, other than the one on the resort. The second day I was here off I went to Anna Maria Island. It is a wonderful place with sugar sand beaches, great seaside cafes and bars and is just laid back as can be. I walked out on the beach, but didn't go into the Gulf of Mexico cuz I didn't have my swim suit along. Lots of folks were sunning themselves and just enjoying the good weather ...

Today is Saturday, October 3rd, so it must be day 13 of my NP tour. Today we spend an hour or so waking through the lost luggage store in Scottsboro, Alabama where Barbara bought a new John Lescroart book for $3, and we got the road for Florida. ... It seems to be somewhat busy but is nice and "walkable." Lots of "shell seekers."

A couple of miles south lies the more secluded Stump Pass Beach, part of Florida’s state park system. The park claims the entire southern end of the key. We have walked it several times now and there are nature trails too where you can see tortoises and egrets.North of Englewood is Blind Pass, apparently a great place ...
