We had a nice flight from Singapore to Sydney with a three hour stop over then a 2.00pm flight to Hobart where nanny and poppy picked us up and took us home.
We had a great holiday but with a sleep in on Saturday it was great to be a dad and take Sofie to her hockey game on Saturday afternoon and catch up with Moira, Ben, Vanessa and Steve, Suzie and Con and Susie Gough and see our girls and boys play hockey again.
Back to school and work on Monday and lot's of great ...

that the starch turns to sugar - from around 11% to 30% maybe. After 48
hrs, the sprouted barley is heated to stop the sprouting and then
spread on the floor to dry out to 3% water content. After that
the barley grains are put in a cutting machine where each grain is cut into 6
pieces or so. Then the cut barley is put in some vat - I have forgotten what
happens to it there but he gave us ...
... idolizing celebrities and more. I'm still not sure if I enjoyed it (I think I'm leaning towards not...) but it was definitely worth seeing. We headed back to the Telegraph Hotel (our new favourite pub) for $5 chicken parms. We stayed one more night at the Frog and flew back this morning!
I loved Tasmania and I think I've caught the travel bug already. I'm excited to find out where our next destination will be before school starts!
... photo's of. After getting the tickets we then drove the 29km down the windy road to the Airwalk.
We stopped to have a look at the Big tree which is a bloody big tree. The walkway was being repaired so we could not get to the very base of it. If the logs on the ground is any indication of the size of trees that used to be around it the it is huge. At this stage the rain started to fall. It was only sprinkling at this stage so we went on to the Airwalk.
... the event du jour - Miss Vivienne's birthday dinner at Lebrina Restaurant in New Town.
Lebrina restaurant was perfect ... from the setting in an old house, to the private room, to the attentive friendly service, to the absolutely delicious food, the great wine, the good company and, of course, the beautiful birthday girl.
After a wonderful night we returned to Sullivan's Cove Apartments!
