Very nice place. Very Clean. Lots of eating establishments close by. Benches and rockers provided outside each room. Nice solid building: and the owner let us park out motorcycles under the overhangs outside each room as there was a bad storm coming.

Spoke to a lady who made jams in different flavours and I bought a strawberry, rhubarb and ginger. Also had a latte and a free water. Followed instructions to Pentwater but stopped again on way at a rest area as Geoff was in need of a sleep. Then carried on and arrive at ...

There is a large casino and hotel called Blue Chip. The casino part is built in the water and the hotel is on land. The place was really big and very busy at 11:00 in the morning when we checked it out! Lots and lots of rich looking older people playing the slots! Just the set the record straight, we were not counted as some of the older people playing the slots since we didn't play!

... the marathon. Then the chase car loaded up and drove to the first spectator/aid station. Thanks to Stuart and Kathleen Goodrich's generosity of lending us their 4-wheel drive Trailblazer we were able to make it through the very remote single track roads of Manistee County! There were four places for us to watch Kirk as he journeyed along the trails of the Manistee National Forest and the Big M trail. Quite a feat for his first ever ...

... beach! It was a great beach with soft clean sand and the water was great because it was fresh water, not salt water like the ocean...and very clear and a pretty color, too! After the beach we stopped for some ice cream at the camp store, and since we just couldn't get enough of this wonderful place, we went for a hike along the skyline trail, which was up these long wooden stairs and led to a long boardwalk along the edge of the dunes. Great views from up there, too. ...
