... there we took it easy and went to Rockford, IL in two days, about 95km. We couldn't find a warmshower host so we turned to couchsurfing. The next day we cycled to White Pine Forest State Park (60km, 37 miles). We met up with cousin John and his friends. We stayed a couple nights, tubed down the Rock river, had lots of fun!

... and 64 Cuda, The owner Steve was real nice and gave us a tour. Dave P had a lot of questions about working metal and the English wheel. Steve showed us his English wheel and all the modifications he has done to it. It was the same model Dave has. Steve also gave Dave some pointers on shaping metal. ... Devils Lake I continued south to Dixon Ill. On the way I drove through huge dairy farmland and big rolling hills. One little town I drove through had carved trolls everywhere, and another town New Glarus, Wisconsin is all swiss heritage. They had cows decorated everywhere. Visit with Dozer and Kathy

... It was tough to see the destruction but thank God no one was hurt and Kathy and Dozer dodged the tornado.

We finished our visit with Kathy and Dozer with dinner in Byron. Then Sheila and I headed back to Iowa City.

Unfortunately we have been getting real good at not taking any pictures. This is an area for much improvement.
