... in particular. We had a disappointing buffet breakfast at the hotel, packed our bags and headed down to our free shuttle to get out of Kathmandu! Today we are flying to Beijing via Chengdu. Fortunately, we are flying out of the International terminal at Tribhuvan Airport and not the domestic terminal.

... is huge, but largely utilitarian, so we head over towards the Forbidden City. A century ago, entry to the Forbidden City would have cost you your life, so the 60 Yuan entry now seems pretty cheap! We head in and while it’s pretty nice, we’re a little underwhelmed. ... the people were throwing money into it, although a guy with microphone was screaming not to. The fun of the whole thing is that that normally you throw coins, but in China there is a bill even for 0.10 RNB so there were a lot of bills floating in the water. Karlie and Emma both ignored the guy though and hoped for good luck by throwing coins in… I found it more interesting to take a picture of the dragon hiding in the stone bellow the tourists.

... of Andy’s closest friends here in Beijing is sadly moving to Singapore, however it does mean that we’ll probably visit him later in the year & go to the Singapore race as well.
