We set the alarm for 6:30 so we could be to the 7:00 hot breakfast. It was a bit disappointing (at this point we are in St Catherines Ontario). The boys ate a few pancakes. I made lunches for the car ride, and we got going soon after. I knew our route had us right next to Lake Ontario, so I pulled over to see it as soon as I could. ... right down. It was wonderful once again to catch up with this extended family. We also got lucky and Gary offered us a quart of Diana’s tomatoes to take on our trip.

... that the lines on the map were roads; that unlike the east where they had to go around hills and mountains and where they had converted every cow path into a road, MI was flat and roads were laid out square and perpendicular to each other.

When we got to Frankenmuth we were in for a surprise. It was a little town like a diamond in the rough. It's like a Bavarian Village and they were having a festival. The village was really pretty and we enjoyed walking around seeing the sights. There was a wooden covered bridge that we were able to walk through as well as lots of neat shops.
