    Hi Everyone!
    Well, our long awaited trip is finally here! We anticipate leaving home tomorrow by 6:30am with our first night's rest in St. Clair, MO. We will then travel to Elk City, OK for night #2 and our 3rd night will be in Grants, NM.

    We have stayed in all these hotels ...

    ... we hit the 6,000 mile mark on our odometer, whewhoo! Indiana is -so far- the state with the least amount of exits on the freeway, beside Indianapolis there isn't really much to see along the freeway, beside grassy fields and forest.

    Before we enter the St. Louis area, we stop at a Aldi to stock up ...

    ... next town, Berlin. Visiting an Amish bakery, a local cheese factory with tasting, the Wendall-August Metal Imprinting shop, and a herritage center to get some more information about the Amish and Mennonite culture.

    People in this area are extremely crafty, lots of local produce, hand-made furniture, arts+crafts, all reasonably priced.

    ... I think she meant my accent. They don’t get many visitors turns out. She kept offering to refill my coffee I think just to get me to talk again.

    Ohio lived up to its reputation for bad roads with very patchy surfaces. Blaming Dave and (red) Barry for not paying enough taxes to their state.

    Stumbled on a lovely ice cream bar for a butterscotch milkshake and ...

    ... never any range anxiety because I always had between 60-100 miles left when I reached the next charger. The car routes thru the Superchargers so no problem finding and getting to them. It was much easier than I thought it would be. The total cost of fuel $ 0 !!! So much fun,looking forward to driving home in a few ...
