Gas cost $63.96 before arriving. First thing me and Buddy did was buy jackets made from Chicago because the clothes we brought from home stood no chance for Chicago weather. For lunch we ate Jack in the Box which cost us $11.74. After eating, Buddy wanted to visit the Buckingham Fountain so that he could drop a penny in there for good luck. Even though I thought it was going to be a waste of time, we still went and I ended up liking the fountain.

After Yoder's farm we continued to drive through Amish country for a while and saw more girls on bicycles as well as several horse and buggy along the busy highways. The next town we came to, was quite a touristy town, with many Amish providing buggy rides around the block, I imagine quite a money earner for them. In the distance we could see what I thought were ocean going ships making their way down the coast but Paul thinks they were more than likely ferries, as the lake is huge and distorts things in the distance.

... Suicide Alley, the toll lanes for CASH ONLY suddenly appear without warning as a pseudo exit on the extreme right hand side of the road. By mistake, I sailed right through the EZ pass booth on the first toll encountered of many.

Thankfully, I arrived safely to my run of the mill haven, Super 8 in Hampshire, IL.
