    ... that it was a long weekend and everybody was here, so we stayed Saturday night in a Cracker Barrel shop car park.     I had planned to spend a day on the beach at Rehoboth Beach, one of several beach towns along Delaware's short coastline. The Delaware beaches are very nice and much less commercialized and honky-tonk than either Ocean City, Maryland or much of the Jersey Shore.

    ... losing their jobs.
    Two years ago Hurricane Sandy caused huge damage to some buildings here along the boardwalk, and although now fully repaired, given the close proximity of the ocean, it will be inevitable that future big storms will again wreck havoc.

    We were ready to leave after a light lunch and beer, whilst 'people watching' on the boardwalk.... back to the car , ...

    ... of us!! for a 2 hour boat trip . A wonderful morning - quite a large vessel with several hundred on board. Leaving dockside travelling West, taking us out through the 3 & 1/2 mile canal dug out during WW2, so the local boats didn't have to go out round the point where the German U boats had been seen and were operational.
