... So driving along we saw some early fall colors in the highest passes, followed the snake river and saw lots of Dams. We slept in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska last night and back tracked to Lake Minatare after breakfast. We saw trees growing in the Lake. Then, on to the Scotts Bluff National Monument. It's not one bluff but a series of them, a major landmark to the pioneers on the Oregon Trail. There is 1.6 mile drive to the top of the highest bluff, with 3 tunnels.
