    From here we went on to Crazy Horse - this is a private enterprise project to acknowledge the Indians as is Mt Rushmore for the Presidents. Korczak Ziolkowski took up the challenge, leaving himself only $164 after he had purchased old machinery, jack hammers etc. He worked alone on the project for 9 years with his wife Ruth and they had 10 children - 5 boys and 5 girls.     What an amazing place and wonderful little towns build amongst pine tree filled mountains.
    Reminds me something of Bonanza or an old John Denver song. It's just beautiful. The roads are magnificent and can understand why the bikes flock here every year.
    We have seen wild bears, reindeer, buffalo and other native animals to the area.

    Today we did a 200 mile motorcycle ride. The sun shone and it was fabulous. We drove through Keystone past Mount Rushmore and by Crazy Horse Memorial to Custer. Then we continued west on Hwy 16 past Jewel Cave National Monument and Hell's Canyon. In this area there were acres of remnants of naked trees standing like poles.
