... can see anymore interesting animals. We get about 500m in on this road and there are Prairie Dogs everywhere, burying away in their homes, in the fields, running out in front of the car. So I jump out with the camera and get a photo of them from about 5-10m away. So cool. We also spotted a different animal that was a fluffier version of a prairie dog (cannot remember the name sorry), so by this time we were set. Looking forward to both.

We headed south on 16/385 for Wind Cave National Park, but somehow missed the turn off, which was a bonus, because we ended up in Custer State Park. We spent the afternoon enjoying a beautiful scenic drive, taking pictures of wildlife, mountains and rock formations. We thought we’d stop in at the lodge ...

... ride up to the monument because we had a lot more to see. Our next stop was Mt. Rushmore. Although impressive and a must see, it is just a mountain with faces carved into it. Yes, I would never crave on a mountain, but just not as awe inspiring as Crazy Horse IMHO. We again watched the movie about its creation and took several pictures.

Next we went up Needles Hwy and it was one of the most ...
