BEST EVER LITRES PER 100KM: 7.9l/100km (not from this trip - just there for comparison).
WILDLIFE DEATH OR INJURY FOR TRIP: NIL

I am more than pleased with the final average of 9.6l/100km for the 5507km travelled with over half of it on dirt roads and about 25% of it 4wding on sandy roads, soft dunes and rough rocky tracks. The worst fuel consumption was on the 110km/h highways where the spare tyre and goodies on the roof increased our drag.

... Line. Normally, this would be an issue but when you have heavy cases to drag up and down what seemed like inumerable stairs, then it became very hard work for everyone and tempers were again short and frayed. thank goodness for the strong arms and fitness of Chanel, who always seemed to be doing a double load.
