1. Thursday and Friday – February 21 &22. We left Jekyll Island and headed down 95 to exit 3 in GA. The roads we took to get over to the east side of the Okefenokee Swamp were out in the country and not a place you want to break down. Off to Waycross, GA this past weekend, for our first ever trip to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. Also a good excuse to break in "Sue"....the not-so-clever name we came up with for the Outback on the way home (Sue-baru/Subaru).

A great day for a half hour drive to Folkston, lunch in the folksy Okefenokee Restaurant, and then a flat-bottomed boat ride through the Okefenokee Swamp, where we saw a Barred Owl, Sand Cranes, White and Great Blue Herons, and an Alligator or two!
