We transitioned to a campground near Abilene today.
After we got set up we met Kay, her daughter, Alicia, and Alicia's kids for a late lunch at Abuelo's. We had eaten there last year and loved their enchiladas - especially their spinach and avocado enchiladas.
The day before Thanksgiving, we moved to Brownwood to visit with Kathy and Dennis and Vickie and Jack.
Once we got set up, we went to Kathy and Dennis' house to visit, and later that evening, were treated to pizzas that were stuffed with all kinds of goodies.
Thanksgiving day, we, and their daughters and family met at their house and were treated to a wonderful Mexican food meal rather than the usual turkey, etc - a tradition started a few ...
... I am sure we will have plenty of stories to tell from our upcoming two weeks.....some of us wanting to kill each other....but most about what hilarious antics we got ourselves into. But, mostly, we play the License Plate game. It is an app that allows you to keep track of all the license plates that you'll see. You can imagine the great excitement when we find a new plate—today, we were excited to see Kansas and Maine for the first time. This places us at 38 found, 13 ...
... it. There was no shade and we aren't built for all that heat and humidity so Chum and I did math in the shade of the car while Nate burned some energy.
We took a quick loop around the beautiful capitol building and then went to an IMAX movie and learned more about the state at the Texas State History Museum.
