What caught our attention of this motel was the majestic mountain goat hanging out on the front lawn... not a statue but a real one, grazing and minding its own business. This was a great place to rest after a long day of driving.

From Grande Cache, we were strategically just a few hours away from Jasper National Park. Another stunning day of driving as you can see from the Dashboard Report. Sunny, few clouds and surprise surprise, stunning natural views. We saw mountain goats being harassed by humans just a few km into the park - a father and son team tearing branches off …

We had a great day yesterday. It was rather uneventful in a wonderful way. I had thought the girls would want to hit the hot springs early but as it turned out they wanted to play at the park after breakfast and then we wandered around this little town and had an ice-cream at the only place we could find one the local grocery store. It is still a little early in the season here and some of the businesses are not open ...

... his back-pack with him this time," said AJ. BJ said nothing, just nodded in agreement. The Daddy wandered around the room opening and closing cupboards, doors, and bags. He collected his green back-pack, checked to make sure everything was inside, AJ and BJ, ducking down out of sight. The back-pack went up on the Daddy's shoulders and off they went. The Daddy got into an elevator, pressed the M button, the doors closed and the elevator dropped swiftly down ...

... they were looking for. Haven't watched TV in a couple of weeks so have no idea if something drastic has happened in the world! Our border agent was very nice as the Canadian Border Patrol tend to be for the most part. There was a very large percentage of RVs passing though the border...everyone out on vacation before school starts perhaps?  There were many large trucks hauling logs as we drove north, and we also passed large lumber yards. ...

... 2 parking tickets that day and was debating paying them. We are probably the worst people to ask because (although we don't have many) we have had the fine fortune of collection agencies calling us to pay some overdue tickets.....which we may have answered in a Chinese accent ..." not speak English..." before hanging up. We then retreated back to our campsite for a night of crazy eights and a short reading of "Harrison Ford's Toes" a story by Stewart McLean. I ...
