What caught our attention of this motel was the majestic mountain goat hanging out on the front lawn... not a statue but a real one, grazing and minding its own business. This was a great place to rest after a long day of driving.

From Grande Cache, we were strategically just a few hours away from Jasper National Park. Another stunning day of driving as you can see from the Dashboard Report. Sunny, few clouds and surprise surprise, stunning natural views. We saw mountain goats being harassed by humans just a few km into the park - a father and son team tearing branches off …

... too. Once the lengthy search for a car park was completed, we headed down to the waterfront, and found a spot between the other tourists for photos. The lake was beautiful and was nestled below more mountains, some of which had the remainders of this winter's snow on them. The lake was a light cloudy blue color - I've never seen anything like it, and pictures certainly don't do it justice!

... any problems at all!! We arrived at the Upper Falls and after a short wait we took some photos before heading off onto the last part of the trail in the direction of the Inkpots. By now we were virtually on our own as we climbed the steepest part of the trail and after about 40 minutes it finally began to undulate before heading downwards towards the valley.

The Inkpots are a series of 5 small pools in varying hues of ...

We continue our journey and not long down the road we reach Rocky Mountain House. We notice a “Parks Canada Historic Site” sign and immediately go in search of it. It is a fair distance out of Rocky Mountain House but since time is of no consequence we decide that we can at least have a look and ...
