... had a drive and I got a feel of what Fresno was like. The city itself is actually huge as far as distance. I didn't see many skyscrapers. ... of the rock .... there was a path up the rock .... a mere 300ft up the rock face .... all the time the hillside was falling away .... so when we arrived at the top .... some 600 to 700 ft up .... the view were fantastic .... you can see how nervous David is .... hanging onto the railing .... lol

Off to see one of the oldest trees in the park .... 2,200 years old stands 275ft and 36ft in ...

And the journey begins...

... of the warmer temperatures and heavy load. It is surprising how much extra gear you have to take to complete a trip like this. Because I was at 17,000 feet I was on oxygen the entire flight. Oxygen is required above 12,500 feet for more then 30 minutes. It is not all that comfortable breathing through a cannula for hours on end but you get used to it.
