... out! I think those men are out there somewhere and they have my respect. It must´ve took a lot of work to do that. I wouldn´t wanna swim in that water. Ew.
Also, the escape happened on 11th of June 1962! Exactly the day we were there (you know, few years earlier :D ). Random fact no. 2: After they escaped, one of the men working there (might´ve been the director) got a blank postcard from Brazil.

... honest, we are still getting use to the fact we have to skype in our morning time, as we are so use to skyping in the evening. It definitely is a time difference medley. We had a few more tourist attractions we wanted to see so we headed into Union Square. Union square was pretty amd what made it even better was the macys staring right at us. Of course we had to go in for a nosey! We had our lunch in the square as the sun was shining and some crazy dude was playing some old school ...
... which moves into the Italian-American culture, and which gets stronger as you move towards the bay area. This square is quite grand with wonderful views up to Telegraph Hill and the Coit tower. It is well known for people doing Tai Chi and we saw this while we say and planned the next part of the route. The square does have the rather good looking St Mary's church, where famously Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio had their pictures taken after their wedding.
Moving up Lombard ...
... over to the infamous Pier 39 for a clam chowder lunch. With full bellies we walked around the markets for a while before catching the bus back to our accommodation, and a stop stop at the supermarket for breakfast supplies, before relaxing for the afternoon and dinner out later.
