We said our hellos to Grandma and Kaleb quickly dashed for the lake . We spent a few hours on sandbars and rocks and the water was the warmest I had ever felt for a Great ...

... restaurant in the vicinity which was about 4m away - they had thought I wasn't really keen on getting back on the bike that day. How loverly of them. It is so American to be so hospitable and generous. It was the same on my first trip across the US and it has not diminished in either the different states or 5yrs on, the Americans remain the most hospitable and generous people I have ever met and it is lovely to be cycling across their wonderful country yet again.
