... maybe they were from Ohio too, and they liked my geek car (the registration is GEK and some numbers, I love it) but my dad says that's their signal that you're clear to pull in in front of them again. Huh. Ya learn something new everyday. So I kept driving through Louisville and into Kentucky. Yee haw! I've made it to Bowling Green tonight, where I've stopped off at a Marriott, which I hadn't reserved. Yay America, eh?! I went out and got some ...

We expected to see a hole in the stage where the "circle of life" was cut out and rehoused in the Grand Ole Oprey! It was a very factual day, and some facts and figures have gone over my head but this is the basics of the beginning of the Nashville music scene as we know it today. So we went for them, at the same time we got tickets for the back stage tour. The building, the new home of the OPRY, it was great and very informative, we saw most of the dressing rooms and got to stand on the circle ...

We had a short drive from Murfreesboro where we stayed last night to Nashville. We are staying three nights here until we leave for Memphis. We spent a few hours in Downtown Nashville to get the feel of the place , we picked up more brochures so we can decide what we want to do over the next three days. The town was bigger than we expected, with skyscrapers which we were not expecting to see. Obviously over the last 20 ...

    479 miles: Franklin, Kentucky & State #4

After such a long trip through Alabama, I was surprised at how quickly we moved through Tennessee, especially since I haven't been running as much. When I checked my miles this week, we were in another state! State #4 is Kentucky, the Bluegrass State, and we are in Franklin, Kentucky, just across the Tennessee state line. Kentucky is called the Bluegrass State because of a kind of grass that grows there. If you don't mow that grass, it grows blue ...
