    ... in Montesano for breakfast. After that we were to go to Westport. Well Winnie decided to flash the check engine light to us??? We found an Auto Zone and had them do a diagnostic test, it says something about a bad coil. Oh dang. Its Sunday and the Ford dealer is closed. So we are parked across the street from the dealer.
    Quite a nice area. Actually waterfront parking. We have a nice walking ...

    ... Ruby Beach. A ranger at North Cascades told us to stop here. It was a mean, blowing, crashing sea. We walked up and down the beach, no shells of any sort. Cliff had his MSU sweatshirt and a guy said he was going to throw him in the ocean!!! Yep they were from Missoula and Griz fans!!! Cliff didn't ask where the rest of his war party was!     A lot of hours on the road today, but worth it to explore the story of Mt. St. Helen, its eruption in May 1980, and the eruption's catastrophic effect on the surrounding area.     Slept well, woke up about 8.20.
    The sky was blue, sun shining, but there was a change in temp, felt cooler and more comfortable.
