... dinner at Lester’s Diner. It was well patronised by locals - always a good sign - so we sat down and ordered. Chilli for me and home made chicken noodle soup for Doug – his cold seems to be getting worse even tho’ he’s in denial and is taking cough lozenges etc.

... out all blue light which made the shape of the manatees stand out a lot more in the water. Occassionally they would come up for air and this was when we were able to see their faces but otherwise the point of the tour was spot the dark blob in the water. It was all very exciting! We also saw our first Alligators and even an Osprey as it dove and caught a fish. After our Everglades nature adventures Josh drove us back to the urban area of Miami.

... over it, I tried the rolliepollie ball position on the floor using the mesh pockets of my bag as a pillow( which makes my face look like a waffle), I tried using pillars and walls as back rests.... Nothing works... I broke down and bought a pillow...slept for 5 hours.... The rest of the time has flown by. Had a great Conversation with the young lady I am meeting up with later this week in Antigua. She is studying Spanish there. She is only 14 but ...

Time to head home. It's raining, but warm. The perfect day to leave. Evidently, Roosters do not crow in the rain. After exiting the Keys, we take the "slow" road back towards FLL driving by numerous tropical plant nurseries, thorough Everglades swamps and canals, etc.
