... the "event". So it was pretty blustery in Irvington the night before my arrival (and as the turbulence felt suggested, it was still fairly windy today). This blustering wind has had the unfortunate effect of knocking the power out!

Thankfully I have all my devices charged and have very little use for them now that my sleepiness after flights is catching up with me (oh how we rely on electricity these days).

... go. We said we were so glad we wouldn't have to get our bags until we got to New Zealand and she said, "you mean, Sydney, right?" I took that moment to look at every bag, tagged to Sydney, Australia, while letting my eyes fill up with fear and my stomach with dread. NOOOOOO! So, last night we flew from Rio to New York touching down at 6am. Luckily for us we were flying with America Airlines. Possibly the only airline that thinks it is acceptable to not have any inflight entertainment on 10 hour flights. It could be worse though, we could have been flying with Malaysia airlines. Their recent track record certainly doesn't fill you with optimism that's for sure. Anyway we made it to New York safe and sound and ...

... New York, found Time Square....ok? Bloody annoying fake Disney characters at you for photos and a tip all the time. That night we went to a Broadway show, If/Then....brilliant show, a bit of stage door stalking (with 100 others) to get Idina Menzel's autograph for Jesse and then off for a cocktail or two to finish off the night. Loving it so far! The next day was my birthday, Rick organised a pedicab tour around Central Park, our guide was awesome and ...
