        We have a cold day today but a short one. We need to make Portland Maine so Carolyn can fly home. We stop at a state park called Battle Mountain and pay $9 entrance fee to take a 2 mile road up to the top. The view is of Penobscot Bay.         ... s largest city, the fair is easily accessible but still far enough from the city to feel authentic. The fair is open from September 27th to October 3rd and from 9am to 9pm.         Transportation was no issue for me and a friend on Friday, because USM provided free shuttle bus service from the Gorham campus straight to Congress Street.
