Great value for Lake Tahoe. Old school motel that has had some nice renovations. Large, clean room with kitchenette. We had room with balcony & lake view. Nice little pool. Decent complimentary breakfast.

58 degrees & sunny at 8 AM. Spent the morning driving down Route 1 along the California Coast. It's a hilly, curvy road with sweeping views of the Pacific, bluffs jutting out into the ocean, sea stacks and rocky areas, with open, flat field of cattle on the other side of the road and weathered barns.

Mit einem rechten Kater stehen wir auf und checken aus. Dann wird noch etwas in der Lobby rumgehängt, bevor wir unser Auto entgegennehmen können. At the beginning of the day, you could see all the way to the southern shore, but by 10am, it had disappear beneath a massive storm cloud. Lightning strikes across the lake sent thunderclaps 30 seconds later! The rain crept across the lake and unleashed a torrent just before ...

Friday, June 26, 2015. PCT day 68. Miles 1006.9-1018 With only 12 miles or so to Sonora Pass (hwy 108), today was a relatively easy day. Starting at 9000 feet, the trail elevated us to 10,800 feet or so. I really enjoyed this part of the trail. The scenery changed dramatically. No longer are the mountains made of granite here. Instead, they are of volcanic origin. The climb up to 10,800 feet was gradual and pleasant, with ...

... a zippy ride across towards Emerald Bay. We took it in turns to drive the boat - obviously the children definitely didn't have a go driving!

We steered around the lovely Emerald Bay with its small castle-topped island before heading out into the lake. By this time everyone's confidence was up so we notched the speed up to 45 / 50 mph and literally flew along. We motored further north and found a perfect spot for towing the tube up and down along Rubicon and Meeks Bays. ...
