This rock formation (its name we cannot find), was so peculiar that we were certain it had to be man-made. I mean, just look at it, extraordinary! But it was 100% earth’s creation and it left us shaking our heads in amazement as we continued our scenic drive.

... the Sierra Nevada that our little van started overheating. We stopped the van and it was spewing coolant -- a big puddle underneath. When we opened the hood, the coolant was in a rolling boil. Clearly the climb had been just a little too much. Luckily we found a gas station nearby and a few minutes later all was well again.

... saw what looked like a giant tree with giant balls hanging. Random. I snapped a picture. Finally we entered Nevada and THEN things got desolate. Lots of prisons but not a lot of anything else. Oh not only did we see snow in the mountains of Utah but also in Nevada. It was amazing to be driving in 100 degree weather and see snow up there.
