Hot night

A travel blog entry by crystalngo88 on Jul 07, 2013

We've stopped to fill up for gas after about two hours of driving. Luckily for me, Leah volunteered to drive first. I hate driving at night. It's the middle of the night but it's already hot. My phone says it is 79 degrees and it's 1am. Oy. Now I'm gonna try to sleep so when it's my turn to drive, I can be alert. Goodnight ...

... couldn't help to feel a bit jealous; I also wants to live in a big house with a pool in the back with palms in the garden and sun all the time. Anyway, we cruised streets up and down and eventually found our way out of town and stopped at a hamburger restaurant for lunch. We finished our meal and were on our way. We had a quiet day to begin with, checking out the visitor centre, watching the introductory film and signing up a junior ranger. There was also ...

Heat Stroke?

... as the map which indicated a connecting road, just dumped my off on the 99. This is where I used my Bionx and I turned it to the highest setting and flew n/b to the next close exit. Even with these direct, short blasts, I rode 33 miles to get from Chowchilla to Merced, which is about 12 miles on the 99. On a map what seems like a small "right end" jog in the road, tended to be quite a long ride on the bike and I was not going to turn back on a long road, when the 99 was right ...
