... return home. We were thrilled to say the least. We stayed at the Alpine Lodge in Mt. Shasta, solid establishment and certainly one of the most well priced hotels in town. This has been a nice relaxing place to zero and catch up on all the blogs entries that need attention. Thanks Mt. ...

We decided we were on the wrong trail and headed down. But it was cool to see the summit of Mount Shasta from that hike.

We went back to the trailhead and saw that it was on the other side of the parking lot that we needed to be for the Squaw Meadow hike.

So we started off again, ...

... to hike over slanted rocks with a drop off so you wouldn't want to fall. Most of the people we saw on the trail were like 20 years old, and for good reason. Its a hard trail! I barely had the energy to finish. I was really running out of steam at the end. But it had been my dream to hike to the Castle Crags. My Dad and I ate lunch and rested quite a bit after we finally got to the end of the trail. There were some people ...
