Another busy fortnight has just flown past, and I don't seem to be able to keep up with Travelpod at the moment. Hopefully January will be quieter! Last weekend LA Galaxy came to play Wellington Phoenix on the Saturday. The whole city went mad with Beckham fever! He arrived on Thursday 29th November, and on the Friday morning, there were around 10000 kids at Westpac Stadium waiting to kick a ball with him! I don't think even he was expecting that! On Thursday evening, there was a CIMA Xmas pa...
Carteton, New Zealand shonandgrahamYes, that is the title of the latest blog...purely because it's been such a bloody long time coming that I am simply dreading writing it. I think I need to cover about 3 months worth of goings on… Whoopsie!
Anyway...we must begin.
Hello! Becca here (finally). I must admit I've been a right old lazy bones when it comes to writing one of these...now, my time has finally come!
I'm not entirely sure where Mark left off. So I shall start from somewhere else ...
... by lake Wakatipu in one of the most scenic spots in the world (not my words, the words of Lonely Planet!)
I could go on, and will do when I see you again. I've met some great people here: the people you're with on this kind of trip make it what it is, so I've been very lucky to have some great company. Cheers guys!
Off to celebrate my last night in New Zelaand now by barbequeing some sausages in the sunshine. Photos to follow soon!

... with the windshield wipers on in no rain when we needed to turn. Richard did a good job though; I haven't taken a crack at it and won't until we're in open road.
We checked into the hotel and in a 30 minute period the weather changed probably 5 times ranging from sunshine, rain, hail, sunshine ...
... had beatiful views and snow, and the Franz Josef glacier was very impressive (but not a patch on Argentinas Poreto Moreno). There were several reflective lakes and nice short walks, and lots of scenic lookout stops on the side of the road. After 3 days of driving our asses needed a break so we stopped in Queenstown to meet up with Melanie who is living there and John who happened to be in the neighbourhood. We climbed a hill with great views over the town and ...
Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand supertramps... which was just amazing - still one of my favourite places in NZ, there are hundreds of undeveloped, remote bays with golden yellow sand, which changes into a red colour when it gets wet from the waves, and then the turquoise sea - it takes your breath away. We took a boat trip there and did a little walk through the bush to the deserted beaches and saw some seals. Next we did a long drive down the West Coast of the South Island - which was really rugged but the rain was coming in ...
Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand damosarah... wifey for xmas!!!! We are both REALLY excited about this, we organised cheap flights between the 4 of us, and it should be a really cracking week! We then fly back to the North Island where we will bomb around the island, before selling young Morris, and working as much as possible, before heading to our next destination…..
TONGA! It is possible to do something called Woofing (world organisation of organic farming - ing) in Tonga. This should be 2 ½ to 3 weeks ...
Today, I am feeling better after having a stomach virus for the past 2 days. I am just having a few after effects, but this is a blessing from God because many people in our school were sick for 4 or 5 days. For our base work duties today, I mowed grass for 3 hours. As they say in New Zealand, I mowed "heaps" of grass. It was actually kind of fun, and I definitely built up some upper body strength.
Oxford, South Island, New Zealand erincastillo... displayed and rather unique. The room is small but quaint and we overlook the main street, Worcester. There is a trolley train which passes just beside us which you can take throughout the downtown area. We are told it doesn't run all night. Looks like rain or sprinkles for the next few days with temperatures in the high teens, so we may have to break out the brollies and rain jackets. Still that's better than having to work or shovel snow!
Christchurch, New Zealand ysandray... admire the whale's back, whale splashes tail and then the crew announced us that we've been really lucky for the day and met the day's whale watch quota in 40 minutes instead of the promised 2 hours and that we're heading back to shore. We couldn't get why, if you had more than an hour still left, we wouldn't continue searching and admiring the whales but the crew didn't seem to have an answer for that. Probably to ease our disappointment, we rode past a very ...
