... We went for a late lunch on the Old Fisherman's Pier at a restaurant called Café Fina. We sat at American Football coach John Madden's table and were warned by numerous signs that we'd have to move if he turned up. Beautiful drive down the 280 to Felton to catch up with my old school buddy, Don Lobete and his wife Ronnie who have lived in Felton near Santa Cruz for 14 or so years. Famous for the giant redwoods at Henry Cowell Redwood State Park which we spent the morning hiking around. Incredible size to these freaks of nature with some thousands of years old. The next morning we drove back to Monterey to pick up a luxury Minivan which Chris had found on an Asian National Rent a car website so it only cost $320 for the week instead of $1200. We unloaded the RV into the Minvan and stacked it all the way up to the top, thank god it was large.
