... a round here it would set you back $495, plus card and caddy fees. Carmel-by-the-Sea is a beautiful small town with numerous boutiques, galleries and eateries. It would take a lot of money to shop here (window shopping for us again). There is also a lovely beach but by the time we arrived at 4:30pm the fog was rolling in again and it was really windy and cold. We took shelter in a cafe that sold Starbucks coffee (drinkable) and I got started on this update as we weren't due back ...

Beautiful drive down the 280 to Felton to catch up with my old school buddy, Don Lobete and his wife Ronnie who have lived in Felton near Santa Cruz for 14 or so years. Famous for the giant redwoods at Henry Cowell Redwood State Park which we spent the morning hiking around. Incredible size to these freaks of nature with some thousands of years old. Enjoyed a great lunch and a few local beers at Chamanaide which overlooks the Santa Cruz area. Parted ways with Don and Ronnie and set ...

The amazing highway that everyone had raved to us about, well today was just another road we had to ride to get somewhere warm. I'm sure there were amazing views to our right, I believe beyond the edge of the road the ocean is breaking on the rocks, but we could not see any of it! We didn't bother stopping for most of ...

... and it has been beautiful!!! How Paul pulled this trailer down that coast road I will never know !!! I was nervous and I was not even driving! I am going to try and attach a few pictures but my word!!! Anyone faint of heart should stay away- beautiful but narrow roads very very high up and hardly any side rails!! Amazing!!! Two days ago we took the ferry into San Francisco and we saw a sign that said 30 minute walk ...

      22/07/13 Whale watching

Up early to go whale watching in Monterey Bay. We left from the Old Fisherman's Wharf on the Sea Wolf II.

Tested out the new binos by observing the sea lions and sea otters that have made to harbour their home. The sea lions are rather entertaining with their porpoising and jostling over the best sunbathing spots. The otters are very busy diving for food then lying on their backs on the surface to eat it.

      The first ...
