... by an earthquake in 1931 and was rebuilt in the art deco style which has been nicely preserved. We walked around the downtown area this afternoon and then decided to drop in to a salon and treat ourselves to pedicures. It has been raining all day today so it was a good day to get that done.
Tomorrow we are heading further south to a town called Masterton which is right in the middle of the Marlborough wine country. We are hoping to visit some wineries and play some golf.

Sailing down the NZ East Coast
... magical moments of any arrival when you turn that key, the engine goes off and all is quiet. It takes a couple of minutes to clear your head and listen. Today we had such a moment of inhale and slowly exhale and everything went very quiet and still. It is precious.
We dropped the hook in Ngaruru Bay in Tory Channel and enjoyed a very tasty Mt. Gay & coke.
