It was almost impossible to find accommodation in Napier. Ian and I sat there in the Internet cafe in Wellington getting more and more frustrated as hostel after hostel said no. After plumping for a slightly more expensive than we wanted motel, the gleaming vintage cars outside the motel revealed why Napier was so busy - we'd inadvertently stumbled upon Napier's busiest weekend of the year, the Art Deco Weekend.

We finish the lambs and then have to crutch some ewes that are very daggy (lots of poo on there back end which degrades the wool so best to crutch and then shear after!). As there is 5 of us and crutching is fairly easy to rousie for, Rahna goes out the back to help the pressers fill the pens and three rousies stay on the board.
