... the time we were ready to leave and for me was perfect riding weather.
It was quite a long ride to New Orleans and we had not booked anywhere to stay which turned out to be a mistake as not only is it still spring break it's also St Patrick's weekend celebrations and everywhere is all booked up. We had stopped 30 miles before New Orleans In a town called Slidell ...

... about 8.30pm. So we took the bus once again out to the viewing area, some five miles across a bay from the launch pad. It was dark but we could see the rocket silhouetted by flood lights. The night ...

We then went back to the main area and went into the shuttle building which gave you a history of the space shuttle program ...

... up with family before the craziness of the cruise begins. It's really, really, hot here. There are a few eating choices that are walking distance from the Radisson and a few blocks down, some souvenir stores where you can grab last-minute sunblocks, towels, t-shirts, etc. My in-laws took a really long cab ride to the nearest Walmart to pick up a few bottles of liquor to bring on the boat (you can bring unopened bottles of beer, wine, champagne, and water bottles onboard The ...

... movie about the International Space Station. Certainly kept us out of the freezing wind for a while.

We grabbed some lunch then jumped on a coach for a tour around the centre. The tour took us past the building where the space vehicles are built, a massive structure equivalent to 57 stories. We also saw launch pads, the sites of multiple launches. The tour then stopped at an attraction focussed on ...
