... Once we had freshened up, we embarked on our journey around Paris. Sarah has moaned about walking screaming 'ARE WE THERE YET?' Like we have a small child in tow making me and Becky feeling like we are parents! We went on into a suite of rooms that were decorated and furnished as they were when one of the Popes was held in them under house arrest. It was a very lavish prison. Other rooms were done up in the way they were for various Queens and Kings. I would not be able to sleep in a room with so many adornments on the walls and ceilings. One Queen had a balustrade around her bed to mark how close other mortals could come. ...

The church is especially well know for its stained glass windows which have been/are being extensively restored.
