A Familiar Place
... enjoys a mild climate and laid back atmosphere. Much of the city has certainly changed since I last visited here on a class trip in 2005. The downtown area is now full of high rise buildings and malls that sell an endless array of name brand clothing at western prices. Half recovered from my flu we headed for Kunming ready to see the province of Yunnan. The view from the train was immediately impressive and accompanied by clear skies. The city of Kunming is perhaps the cleanest looking Chinese city I have found in terms of pollution. There didn't seem to be any smog and the city has a good reputation for this.
