    ... to Kunming we met Wen Nee, a Malaysian woman traveling on her own and staying at our hostel. She spoke 5 languages including Chinese and helped us get a taxi without over paying. We shared dinner with her at a restaurant not far from our hostel and enjoyed a floor show presented there including some local traditional dance.

    ... was kitted out in a rustic way, and best of all they sold great western food, oh, and had two roof gardens. We bagged an on-suite room for £15, which seems to be the norm price in China.

    ... has been regularly, renovated but now is dated. You still have to board your plane from the tarmac. You are taken out to the plane on a low floor airport bus. The terminal has a KFC outlet which was going flat out. Marjorie and I had our tea here. It was an American type of restaurant and menu, but was still ok.
