... the JFK airport. We are staying at East 83rd St so had to get 20 blocks by 4:15am. Now, normally this wouldn't be a problem because their are hundreds of cabs lining the streets 24/7 here and you are spoilt for choice - we didn't bother booking a cab for 3:45am to pick us up because we thought we could just walk to 1st Ave 1 minute from our apartment and hail one - this was our first mistake, there are a lot more to come.

... If you want to get excited, just go up close to the waterfall and don't go to the tower after that. By the way, before you get on the elevator, a professional photograffer takes a picture of you, makes a composit picture with the background of Niagara Falls, and sells it. After walking the waterfront trail viewing the falls, we tromped up the hill to the hotel strip, and went to a totally non-smoking casino (Falls View Casino) - what a great surprise and pleasure to play the slots in non-smoking air!
Then we headed back into the USA and decided to drive as far as Syracuse tonight.
