Autsch, das war eine unruhige Nacht. Die Bisse der Sandflies vom Milford Track stören uns immer noch sehr - laut einer Apothekerin kann das zwei Wochen so gehen. Rob Roy Glacier
... by bush. Finally we arrived at the lower lookout, from where over the bush we could make out the glacier clinging to the mountainside, it was awesome. We carried on climbing for another 30mins till we reached the upper lookout. The snow was all over the mountains and a glacier clinging on, it was stunning. Cardrona 1863 Hotel
... lunch!
The pub was built for the gold rush in 1863. It has grown a bit since then and the front view belies it's size. A deceptivly large interior and heaps of accommodation which I guess gets lots of use in the ski season. Quite crowded today as well.

Taking The Plunge
The days had been counting down and I knew I had to face one of my fears. So far bungy jumping was in the back of my mind as we left Fox Glacier and headed towards Wanaka for some Skiing and Snowboarding at Treble Cone.
We stayed in a small rest area at the base of a bridge just before Haast. It was a pretty wet night with some very heavy rain thrashing itself in to the camper and where the river had increased dramatically over night.
