    ... land for rice farming, raising cattle and in the early 1900's, the discovery of oil. This helped the town of Iowa to thrive during the depression. Today, cattle ranching, farming and the oil industry all continue to be a vital part of the towń. No matter where we travel, there is always a story. That's mine, and I'm sticking to it.

    ... 5 over the speed limit, and it was busy and fast. There are a number of other highways and toll roads that come in and out. They paint the numbers on the lanes and a good thing because my head was on a swivel all afternoon. The truckers didn't slow down for a second.     ... ever seen. This is like a metaphor for Texas. Even when they do something wrong, they do it with pride of craftsmanship. We stopped at Bass Pro to watch Johnny run in fear from the fish.     ... only non-fast food restaurant (that we could find out about). Ruby's Cafe is situated on the old main street---a stark contrast to the continuous strip mall of the main highway through town. This may have been out in the middle of nowhere, but the food was excellent. I ate the grilled shrimp, and it was possibly the best shrimp I ever ate anywhere. If you're ever in Eunice, Louisiana.....
