      ... enough to see a huge condor spreading his wings on a nearby rock. What a wonderful experience and only $5 a car visitors pass and a very helpful ranger at the station.
      After a full day of hiking, we were all pooped (as Chloe would say) and headed to Santa Cruz to check out the boardwalk and the famous old rollercoaster. Pity it only opens on the weekend and pity we didn't find this out until after we walked around in circles for an hour. Even ...

      ... good and they had a piano player who was good crack. Montgomery Nature reserve has some of the tallest and oldest redwood trees in the state, the grove itself is quite mystical you reach it by driving for 14 miles on a beautidul scenic winding road with lots of switchbacks. You arrive at a modest entrance its very understated with no interpretation or visitor information what so ever? It makes me realise how good the Forestry Commission is at visitor/destination ...
