... are staying in is just gorgeous, like something from a movie. The town is like Noosa but thinking fishing village rather than beachside, tiny, posh, bridges, limited parking. And it's frickin' freezing! We checked in, did a quick walk around then went to a hotel on the river for a drink (which was full of cool people). Found a little spot to get brunch, The Front room- amazing corned beef ...

I realized it was a seal, beached ...

We took advantage of doing some research on our family history while we were there and plan to follow up on. You can do your family too by sending an online request. We drove to Moncton and parked at the accommodating Moncton Casino ...

... 402ft pylons of the bridge had an observatory in it and a fort called Fort Knox at the base (not the one with all the gold).  We had ½ an hour to kill so we wandered into the local town of Bucksport for a look before heading back to do the tourist thing. The views from the observatory were worth the $7 entry as we could see all the way up the Penobscot River and surrounding islands and out to the Atlantic.  Although the peak ...
