    ... relevant to this story...both our passports expire in mid September. So ...this detail made for a sleepless night but being the problem solvers we are, we are now getting urgent passports on Monday in Vancouver and flying out to Rome now on Tuesday night. The lovely ticket agent had a new travel itinerary whipped up in minutes and for $100 ...

    Well...just a few more days until we venture off to Italy. My hope is we have glorious days full of long walks in a city full of historic sites to behold. Cafes with delicious coffee, gelato and the odd handsome Italian. Stores brimming with gorgeous shoes and jewelry. With relaxing afternoons that require a glass of wine for all.     Then it was off to the 'Hugging Tree' Winery (www.HuggingTreeWinery.com). It is one of the newest estates in the area - and I just loved the name, so that was 1st on the list. Owned by the Makepeace family, the name comes from a tree that sits outside the main house on the estate.

    ... too, maybe even Dan but we sure as heck are going to get it out on DVD to see it in White Rock when we get back!
    Carol and Bruce are doing all the driving and we do the cooking. We have mainly taken the Highway 3 route across the lower end of the Rockies. The drive through the Okanagan Valley was superb and the fruit and wine in this area is very good.
