Well...just a few more days until we venture off to Italy. My hope is we have glorious days full of long walks in a city full of historic sites to behold. Cafes with delicious coffee, gelato and the odd handsome Italian. Stores brimming with gorgeous shoes and jewelry. With relaxing afternoons that require a glass of wine for all. Then it was off to the 'Hugging Tree' Winery (www.HuggingTreeWinery.com). It is one of the newest estates in the area - and I just loved the name, so that was 1st on the list. Owned by the Makepeace family, the name comes from a tree that sits outside the main house on the estate.

Carol and Bruce are doing all the driving and we do the cooking. We have mainly taken the Highway 3 route across the lower end of the Rockies. The drive through the Okanagan Valley was superb and the fruit and wine in this area is very good.
