... eens wat werk te zoeken. Daarnaast is het lekker om wat geld binnen te krijgen i.p.v. uit te geven. En een beetje beweging kan ook geen kwaad...
Om zelf eens te ervaren wat de familie Emonts vroeger meegemaakt heeft, besloten we om een weekje of twee appels te gaan plukken.

En het was wel even wennen... na de eerste drie dagen waren we helemaal op, maar na een dagje relaxen en een bezoekje aan Russell en Pauleen konden we er weer tegenaan.

... but Kellie couldn't handle the pace of the jager-train (nor did we need to drink any more), so we got a maxi taxi home at around 3am, with the promise of a road trip on Monday.

Urgh, hangover. Ouch. Hungry Jacks. Better. I dropped around to the Boulevard with Grandma in the front seat, and followed up the double cheeseburger with a roast beef and gravy roll. Everyone was pretty tired, including me, so I headed home for a Mothers' Day dinner and a business meeting with Geoff.

... another chance. The place is called Cobram and it's about a four hour drive north of Melbourne. To be honest we were both feeling a little aprehensicve about fruit picking. We had heard that it is very hard work, bad pay and you are stuck out in the middle of nowhere with diddly-sqaut to do. These facts did turn out to be mostly true, but at the same time we really enyoyed it also.

We asked one of the cafe employees to take a pic of us in front of the strawberry, which she did, twice, both landscape and portrait, neither of which got the whole strawberry in. Oh well, I suppose you had to be there.

O simpatiquíssimo senhor alemão, tendo começado à experiencia, manteve as regalias na quinta (paparoca, caminha e roupa lavada). Tinha agora um novo emprego, em vez de apertar e encostar, apanhava, agora. Ganhava dinheiro com todo o conforto que as senhoras alemãs deixaram de ter. E isto foi-se mantendo. Notava-se algum desconforto com a situação, aparentemente temporária.
