... around a corner and have a huge motorhome in their face! They hadn't even gotten to the 26.2 mile run yet. I can only imagine what they were worried would come at them during THAT portion of the race!
We found a KOA that had one spot left and parked it!
I did some laundry while Mike took the dogs out to chase down any straggling Iron ...

... place. Easy to see why they chose to hold the winter Olympics of 1932 and 1980 here. We did some driving around the area and village as well to be sure to take in all the sights.






We then made our way back to Plattsburgh for a pizza and a walk with Ozzi. Not a late night as we'll be driving around Lake Champlain to Burlington, Vermont for some shopping ...

Can't believe we're camping on the shores of Lake Champlain!!! We've had incredible experiences in this area of New York. This state continues to keep us on our toes!! We had an amazing hike through the Ausable Chasm where the river was rushing through a canyon of steep walls with incredible force (especially after several big storms the days before our visit.
Then yesterday we took a drive into the Adirondack mountains & rode our first gondola up the slope ...

... the heavy rains over the past week. Boulders and tree roots exposed everywhere. Mud up to our ankles was very common on the trail. Just leaping from boulder to wet boulder was a challenge. . It was mainly uphill and quite the work out! We passed Marcy’s Dam where loggers once used to dam to control their logging procedures long ago (now washed away by a heavy flood and never repaired).
