... or so from the parking lot! George weighs 30 lbs. This was NOT going to work. Unless, we could park the car in the FIRE LANE which was only about 50 feet from the sign. I don't know what the Park Ranger thought of George but he let us do it. I suspect he was thinking something like "Just give the crazy people what they want and they'll leave."

We passed through the Chesapeak Bay Watershed, saw the Petersburgh National Battlefield and drove through the outskirts of Richmond. There is a big NASCAR race in Richmond this coming weekend and lots of places had no availability. We were able to stay in the Kings Dominion/Camp Wilderness RV Resort for the night.
