I've consolidated a week's worth of travel into one blog because WiFi has been spotty and I've had difficulties downloading my Mt. Rushmore photos.
This blog counts my miles as 6,817. Not bad for a trip that was originally thought to last 3-6 months, but is now going on a year. But, I'm coming home -- be there in July. I'm running from bad weather again just as I did last fall when I tried to outrun temps of 32 degrees.

... have driven through 10-mile construction zones where either the eastbound or westbound lanes have been completely removed and an entirely new highway is being built from the sub-roadbed up. The lanes we are driving on have been patched to the point that they can no longer be repaired and, I assume, will be replaced as soon as the other lanes are finished. Evanston is a restaurant waste land. Not one restaurant sounded good on TripAdvisor ...
