Day of Atonement
We started our day out by driving to Hickory, NC for services. We had several visitors and some visitors that we were very excited to see that we had not seen in awhile. A GREAT surprise!! After services, we drove to the Microtel in Charlotte, NC to take advantage of the park and fly package. We changed clothes, filled out the information to be able to leave our car, and after Sabbath we went to Olive Garden ...

... freaked me out a bit. I have been so anxious thinking that is going to rain and just wanting to lay day, that i havent focussed at all on hiking either. Instead i have only been focussing on getting to the shelter which is still far away and not helping morale. It just doesn't feel good. I think i need to slow down a bit and just try to relax. i did pass one great spot today where i could see all around me.

Sorry, guys, I dropped off the radar for a short time. We arrived in Nashville in pretty steady rain, after some very torrential downpours on the road. We had the option of paying extra for a cabin, and two of our group did, but four of us hardened up and carried on regardless. We drove into Damascus and met Zach, owner of the Damascus Cycle Works in town. He is usually closed on Wednesdays, but said he would meet us around 8am or so....Ramona was the one that set it all up with him. A day of looking for trails.
VA needed another campground because we were not going to stay in this one and we needed to be moving on down the road. Found a campground in West Virginia so we could start the days adventures.
