... of mapping routes, we still like to be able to preview routes and look up an alternate plan if construction delays loom!). There was a geocache in a tree 200 feet from the door, so no sense in leaving that unfound. Later, we stopped at the Johnny Cash Rest Area, which led to many hilarious comments about why there wasn’t a Johnny Cash Cache available. Clearly Tennessee cachers have missed an opportunity ...

We drove about 400 miles today. A little further than we had wanted, but we relaxed when we arrived. We are in a very nice RV park, Arkadelphia RV Park. We have driven through much farmland. There was a nice trail to the Little Missouri River with an overlook where you could see a few teepees across the water. By far the best place we’ve stayed so far!

I'd say this is what we were hoping for when we planned this trip, and it feels good.

What a day. We planned to break camp early and head to Crater of Diamonds State Park. According to Google Maps, it should be just under 4 hours. But when everything goes wrong on the road, it actually takes 7 hours! Here’s a rundown of the drive:

    • Woke up to more strong wind. Had to get the truck and camper ready to go in the cold, with the wind blowing everything all over the place. I could barely hold the door open without ...
