    ... gems are just sitting on the ground. We didn't find any, but it's an engaging activity; you end up really trying to find your prizes amongst the millions of tiny stones your either sift through or sluice. I was exhausted by the effort, myself, but I have to say the facilities here are very good. I would do it again sometime in the future.

    Today, we head back home. The weather itself may be our on the road adventure, but so far, so good.

    ... town, it was obvious the impact that the down turned economy had on this tourist destination, several run down & closed hotels.     We made to Crater of Diamonds State Park around 1 am. We were very tired! Drake was asleep in the back all buckled in like a good boy! We pulled into our spot once we found it.
