... Site before heading on to Texas and, what else? The drive-in for which we have been preparing by watching the first two Hobbit movies. Someone suggested that we could see the third without seeing the first two, but since the second ends with a dramatic cliff-hangar, I’m inclined to think that we’re better off knowing the backstory. It remains to be seen whether, knowing the backstory or not, the movie is any ...

We drove about 400 miles today. A little further than we had wanted, but we relaxed when we arrived. We are in a very nice RV park, Arkadelphia RV Park. We have driven through much farmland. Soybeans, corn and now some cotton fields. Farmers are praying for dry weather and wind to dry out their fields. The further south we came, the fields are drying enough and the farmers are busy with their ...

We didn't find any, but it's an engaging activity; you end up really trying to find your prizes amongst the millions of tiny stones your either sift through or sluice. I was exhausted by the effort, myself, but I have to say the facilities here are very good. I would do it again sometime in the future.

Today, we head back home. The weather itself may be our on the road adventure, but so far, so good.

... zillions of years ago). We didn’t find any, just some cool rocks, but they average a couple of small diamonds per day found by park visitors. There was a nice trail to the Little Missouri River with an overlook where you could see a few teepees across the water. By far the best place we’ve stayed so far!

I'd say this is what we were hoping for when we planned this trip, and it feels good.

... the side of the trailer. Finally got out just before noon. About two hours later than planned. We may have left Dean’s basketball at the KOA. The wind has probably blown it to the east coast by now.

  • Construction between Memphis and Little Rock had us stopped on the interstate for a while. When we got to the actual construction zone, there was an RV broken down forcing everyone onto the inclined dirt shoulder. Damn ...
