We zijn nu een week in Amerika en het is tijd om afscheid te nemen van Yellowstone. Dit was een bezoek waar we erg naar uitgekeken hadden en dan heeft het nog wel eens de neiging om tegen te vallen.

Wild Bill was shot in the back of the head ...

Because the park is so vast, we chose to take two full days, drive the grand loop, a figure eight of an upper and lower loop, that intersects the center of the park. Mike and I pretty much spent the entire time in Yellowstone with our eyes popped out and our jaws dropped. It is that spectacular.

... had brought lunch, jacket, camera, large can of bear spray and a Colt Anaconda .44 Magnum revolver just in case we met one of the newer "residents" of the town. It was a beautiful day and I couldn’t help singing as we made our way upwards and deeper into the mountains. The road was open all the way and we rolled into the peaceful alpine setting of the deserted town of Kirwin.

We were the only people there, which is not unusual. ...
