... back by the barn. To appease me my dad said I could work on the car and fix it up. Much to his chagrin I flame painted the dash and put three carburetors on it.

The "Checker" thing started much later. When I was a buyer for L>S> Ayers we would go to NYC about once a month and always stayed at the same third rate hotel around Times Square.
Big fat "Lester", the guy who ran the limo service had this fleet ...

We just stopped to cut the cheese at Grandpas Cheesebarn in Ashland,OH. Picked up some awesome cheese curds and now are back on the road! It's been raining for the past two hours and looks like we are driving through clouds. Good news is snow is gone and we are seeing grass( even if it's brown...) All is going well and we should be arriving in Dayton,OH in about 3 hours. That's all for now.. -Jumanda ...

The weather was good heading north...missed most of the rain that was predicted on Monday...but boy did we hit a lot of bugs in Georgia. Our windshield was practically covered! Then, when the rain hit, Richard was hesitant to turn in the wipers...thought we'd have a blinding mess...but it was fine. We stayed in Wytheville, VA last night and got a good start this morning.

What a trip in 12 "short" ...

... Steps, not far from our Hotel - thanks to Rick Steve's travel maps. The Spanish Steps is named for the Spanish Embassy to the Vatican which has been there for 300 years. The Steps are considered a very romantic place, frequented by such as Keats, Goethe, etc. Then we meandered over to Trevi Fountain. Was sunny when we left Marysville but 40 minutes later it was cloudy again. Took the freeway - 3 or 4 lanes each way into Detroit. Being Saturday, the traffic was not bad. Had a chance to drive around. Lots of road work in the city and some restorative work on buildings. ...
