    ... train station we found we were lost. We called the RV park to find out where we went wrong and they advise us we would have to go back out the same way we came in... gggrreat. We did see some beautiful country side on our travels as we made it out of Tennessee. The country side is green with lots of trees and rolling hills.     Our last stop was with Lauren and Eric, Luke and John William in Little Rock, Arkansas. The boys had a blast swimming and the girls had some great cuzzie time too. Eric even had a break from call and was able to eat dinner with us. We woke up the next morning and headed all the way into New Iberia. The family was waiting for us with a warm welcome. We all agreed 10 days and about 3000 miles across the country was surprisingly fun! And God blessed us with a safe trek ...

    Our journey began at the breaking of dawn...

    That's a lie. We began when we were awake. It was 8:30. It was light out. Come on, we're not insane!

    The first leg of our trip was from Chicago to Little Rock, AK. Mara wasn't going to do any research in the capitol of the Natural State (yes, that is their official nickname), but we were going to spend our first night north of the city on our way to Austin.

    ... so tall and so thick that you couldn't see traffic traveling the other direction. I was feeling a little claustrophobic.


    As we got closer to Little Rock there was a sign that we were on the “Purple Heart Trail” which are roads etc. dedicated to those in the US Armed Forces that have received the Purple Heart medal.

    ... road, Disney sing a longs, question games, alphabet games, silent thinking time, quick naps on the side of the road, pee breaks. The road was entirely flat, and I found today to be my hardest day yet. It was so mentally debilitating. The ride into Gatlinburg where we climbed mountains in the Smokeys was easier than today.
